Brian is still doing Fez Fatale’s live sound, and during March he helped them with their new CD, which they named "Soundman" in appreciation for his efforts over the years. (They didn’t tell him about the name until the CD was released, so it was a real surprise. "Aw shucks gang, you shouldn’t have," says Brian.)

We make it a point to find time for charitable and political activities. We joined the Mother’s Day March for Peace in May, and we once again participated in the Race for the Cure in September.

This spring Brian was asked to join the Board of Directors of Alternatives to Growth Oregon (AGO), a non-profit organization dedicated to stopping population and consumption growth in Oregon. One of AGO's outreach efforts involves presenting a program called "Living Within Limits" to high school classes in the Portland area. Sharon and Brian both received presentation training in November, and Brian helped present the program during December. It was a lot of fun, and we both expect to present the program many more times during the current school year.

Mason keeps an eye on the PresidentBrian still serves as Treasurer and webmaster for Oregon Communities for a Voice in Annexations (OCVA), roles that kept him very busy during this year's Legislative session. OCVA was instrumental in passing State legislation to protect citizens from lawsuits designed to stifle their public participation (known as SLAPP suits). And Friends of North Plains continues to monitor the City's land use activities.
