The Beinlichs' 2002 Holiday Letter

Page 4

In August, our dear friend Barry came to visit.  In addition to being a lot of fun to have around, he was a great help around the farm!  We even squeezed in a day-sail on the Columbia River with Dean and Captain Raùl!  Barry also helped us celebrate our 7th anniversary.

In September, our dog Mingus celebrated her 12th birthday.  She’s pretty spry for such an old gal.  She might even love the farm even more than Mason!  There are endless things to smell and explore, and we’d have to say moving to the farm has made her even more youthful.  One of her favorite pastimes is to bury pieces of fruit that fall from the trees (apples are her favorite).  Silly Mingus!

Also in September, we found time to host a garage sale with four other families.  The best part about doing it after we moved was meeting many of our new neighbors!  In late October Mason magically transformed into a spider (for Halloween).  And in November, Sharon’s mother Susie visited at Thanksgiving, and David and Rick stopped by while they were in town.  We had a great visit.  We always enjoy having visitors!

As the holidays roll around, we’re finally feeling like the end of the major projects is starting to come into view, and are looking forward to focusing more on the farm itself in the year ahead.  We are all grateful to be happy and healthy, and truly appreciate the family, friends, and neighbors that surround us.

Our best wishes for a peaceful and joyous holiday season go out to all of you.  We hope that you will find a way to enjoy the peace, beauty, and serenity of this time of year—a time when Mother Nature slows down and takes a rest (us humans should take a hint).  May your New Year be filled with health, happiness, and contentment.

 Love,
Brian, Sharon, Mason, and Mingus

Can you believe Mason can write his name already?    Mingus says, "Arf!"
