And then there’s Mingus. Her kidney problems acted up again in August, and we very nearly lost her. A “farewell” camping trip turned out to be a turning point for her; a chance to let us know she was not yet ready to go. She turned 15 in September, is old and frail, but is still with us.

We sent an e-mail message to many of Mingus' friends when we thought we were going to lose her, and another after it seemed that she was once again stable.   If you missed these updates, you may read them here.  Since the second update, Mingus is back to mostly eating dog food, with the occasional bit of broth added to keep her interested.
