The Beinlichs' 2002 Holiday Letter

Here's a cool aerial photo of part of our farm that was given to us by the previous owners.  We think it was taken in the mid-90s, so everything isn't exactly the same as you see it here.

The view is to the southeast.  Starting from the lower left and moving clockwise, one can see:

  1. The "pine forest", a.k.a. "the campground".  The trees are about 30 years old.

  2. A corner of the north pasture area, which is also where the well house is.

  3. The "stables", with a tack room and hen houses.

  4. Our garden area.

  5. A small planting shed, with a wood stove for keeping those little plants warm!

  6. The barn, which must be seen to be fully appreciated.

  7. The two huge sequoias, which are probably almost 100 years old.  We have an aerial photo from 1936, and they are clearly visible.  The large walnut tree to the right of the sequoias was taken out by the previous owners.

  8. The structure of our two greenhouses is barely visible between the sequoias and the walnut tree.

  9. A portion of the south pasture area, where we plan to grow most of our vegetables.

  10. Our house, with its wrap-around porch in front, the kitchen and mud room to the left, and bedrooms upstairs.

  11. The detached garage.
